SEEDS Club

In 2008-9, a group of Year 5 pupils - Archie Weir, Oscar Parry, Feyaz Khan, Lauren Hopson, Anna Sumner and Emre Kaya - ran a science club every Friday for a group of Year 2 children, called SEEDS Club.

Under the supervision of Ms West, they led, organised and prepared science activities to teach the younger children about basic science concepts - for example, making motors spin in a simple circuit using solar panels. The Club was a huge success and the children enjoyed it a lot.

The SEEDS Club leaders received an award for their efforts from the Mayor of Islington at a special ceremony on 13 July 2009 at Islington Town Hall. Lauren and Feyaz also wrote a report on the Club's activities, so they received a special MegaStar award as well.
